Why m.other?

How easy is it to be a young artist in today’s Greece? How differently would art be shaped if we all knew the contemporary reality of a creator?

Out of the need to take action, we conducted research, giving young artists a space to express themselves—bringing their struggles to light and seeking solutions.
Out of the need to find solutions, m.other was born—a community that co-shapes an art world on our own terms, where visibility and collectivity become tools for growth and change.
And out of the need for a questionnaire to change the art context, m.other invites you to an open discussion, by and about art.

m.other is a community willing to reshape the cultural landscape, by raising awareness of artists and art, backed by research-driven knowledge. Driven by a vision of a more transparent and ethical art world, we seek to promote unity and ensure that art-- and the voices behind it -- are truly seen.

Business administration graduate and veteran photographer, Kostas has developed his storytelling by covering sustainability initiatives in Southern Europe. In the years leading production activities of Cinergies Co-Op he developed a keen interest in emergent economic and production models, as well as in creating educational experiences tackling the wave of missinformation and fake news.

Circular Talks

A series of talks with practitioners and advocates from the Creative Sector focusing on environmental and social topics. This edition we will hear their views on Environmental, Social and Financial sustainability for creatives! Confirmed speakers:

Cinergies is a Greek social cooperative founded in 2016 whose purpose is to create and support alternative narratives to foster equitable and sustainable pathways. The cooperative specializes in transmedia documentary production and explores new mediums to cover events and share the important stories of our times integrating audio/video/photography to research and storytelling. As a team it gathers a diverse set of people, whose skills complement one another in order to document and recognize how people actively resist and shape transformational pathways. It aims to concretely enable know-how and capacity-building services to support and further disseminate the achievements of social economy and sustainability initiatives, which often suffer from a lack of visibility. By giving voice to people that are disempowered by mainstream media, the cooperative provides an opportunity for people to become actors – agents– of change rather than merely spectators.
